THE HAMPTONS – As the weather heats up, and long weekends in the Hamptons commence, two words come to mind: Lobster. Roll. We've combed through the best on the East End for your summering pleasure. Get your wallets out and start salivating.

Our Top 5 Favorites

THE STAPLE
The Lobster Roll/Lunch1980 Montauk Highway, Napeague; +1-631-267-3740
The classic lunch spot is the place to ease a grumbling stomach along Montauk Highway. The inviting Americana decor and packed parking lot can be spotted a mile away. A major player on the Hamptons-Montauk commute, it'll be hard to do a drive-by without stopping when you consider mounds of lobster meat and generously buttered buns.

THE SPLURGE
Silver's Restaurant
15 Main St., Southampton; +1-631-283-6443
Of course the classiest lobster roll is served in a Parisian-inspired bistro setting. It even tastes expensive: A crisp, buttery bun barely contains the big hunks of sweet, fresh-caught meat and celery crunch. Goes best with slender, salty fries smattered with parsley.

THE VETERAN
Duryea's Lobster Deck
65 Tuthill Rd., Montauk; +1-631-668-2410
This local institution proudly uses paper plates, has out-of-this-world sunsets, and caters to throngs of bathing suit-clad customers. Thrilling for the taste buds, not so much for the swimsuit figure.

THE BIG TIME
Bostwick's Chowder House277 Pantigo Rd., East Hampton; +1-631-668-2410
This bulging bun is one of the more generous on the East End. The lobster overflow, as you can imagine, makes for die-hard customers.

THE COVETED
The Seafood Shop
356 Montauk Highway, Wainscott; +1-631-537-063
If you're looking for seriously luxurious takeout, this is the place. Inside sources from The Seafood Shop tell us that fresh lobsters (cooked to order in small batches) and fine Dijon mustard are the key to maximizing deliciousness.

MORE GOOD ROLLS

Casual destination spot on the highway.
