After completing Central Park, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux set to work on 585 acres of pastoral charm. There are impressive watercourses, Neoclassical structures, bike lanes, and walking paths. The park is flanked by the Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Museum, and Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. An excellent farmers market is held every Saturday morning at the park entrance. Pack a picnic and head to the fields.
