El Camino co-founder and photographer Marianna Jamadi is one of our favorite travelers to follow on Instagram. Her feed is a continuous stream of the beautiful people and striking places she encounters on her many far-flung adventures. Here's a closer look at the photos she snapped while doing a #FathomTakeover from Ubud, the cultural center of Bali.
UBUD, Bali – After spending time with family in Java, I island-hopped from Lombok to Gili Trawangan to Bali. I spent the majority of my time in Ubud taking in local culture and sites like Monkey Forest and Tanah Lot. While I visited Bali several times as a child, absorbing it as an adult was an entirely different, enriching experience. From the delicious food to the incredible culture and friendly people, Bali is truly a magical place.
Away She Goes

Two Wheels
A cycling tour is a great way to take in Ubud’s local sites.
Caffeinating
Our cycling tour to Mt. Batur started at a coffee and spice plantation where the tasting was almost as fun as the ride.
Such Great Heights
A light breakfast and glorious views of Mt. Batur.
Dig In
Dirty Duck Diner (also known as Bebek Bengil Restaurant) is a favorite among Ubud visitors for smoked duck and tables overlooking rice fields.
Gifts for the Gods
Hindu offerings are scattered throughout Ubud, filling the city with bright colors.
BBQ in Bali
Naught Nuri's is the spot for ribs. Order a side of mashed potatoes and a dirty martini to compliment your barbecue.
Monkey See, Monkey Do
The sweetest moment at Ubud’s Monkey Forest. (If you have bananas, they will jump.)
Home Sweet Home
Lush jungle trees. No wonder the monkeys call this home.
