4. Hylin

Hylin

A local favorite, this brick-walled cafe takes design queues from New York’s High Line, mixing industrial bones with resplendent greenery, and a NYC skyline homage in graffiti. An outdoor eating area of mismatched benches and chairs are a summer favorite, and the food ranges from healthy to ultimately decadent, but is always light, fresh fare.

With incredible, edge-of-the-Swan-River views on their Australian sun-dappled patio, you’d think the location was the best part of this east Perth café. Until you try the food. Like the name suggests, you can get pretty much anything on toast, but variety is king here. We’re talking six kinds of crepes, eggs benedict five ways, and seven different breakfast bowls.

Market Grounds

One of Perth’s newest and biggest venues, with a dining area, mezzanine, bar, sunken lounge, and garden patio. The restaurant has a meat-and-veg vibe, from giant tomahawk ribeye to exmouth bug, while the bar menu offers more relaxed options like wood-fired pizza, burgers, and a chip butty.
