Here we are at the Reina Sufia museum in Madrid. I took the elevator to the upper level to overlook the city. I love the reflections of the building mixed with the city's reflections.
It was a warm Sunday morning and this gentleman was having a rest. I loved his suit. The way he sat under the pharmacy sign made me wonder if he was a doctor.
Sometimes all you need is that one moment where the sun hits the object you are about to shoot. That afternoon, I climbed to Piazzale Michelangelo to look out over Florence. I stood behind a table filled with touristic stuff like postcards and umbrellas. I waited for the sun to illuminate these forgotten souvenirs on the floor.
This is one of my favorite images mostly because of the look on the kid's face. I was walking on the beach and saw a group of teenage boys goofing around. I grabbed my camera and ran after them. When this young guy realized I was following them, he turned around and gave me that great smile. This image always reminds me the movie City of God, but on the good side of it.
This guy is quite famous in Monmartre. He performed acrobatic tricks with the ball as we watched him in awe. I love his muscled body and his sense of balance. This is Paris before sundown, from the highest point in Monmartre.
We were thrilled when a series of images from street photographer Sivan Askayo showed up in our inbox. Her pictures, inspired by "city dynamics and its people," show us how we interact with our everyday surroundings.
Be sure to also check out Askayo's ongoing Laundry Project, a collection of clothesline images that started in the alleyways of Tel Aviv's Jaffa neighborhood.
This image is pure serenity. It was quite early in the morning after a snow storm. The air was still and everything was very quiet. There were few brave people who went out for a morning run, and you can see their blurry images, coloring the white of the snow.
I got stuck in London during the volcanic eruption in Iceland, which created some warm days in the British capital. Since I had extra time, I decided to stand on line for the London Eye. When I made it to the top, the reflection was clear and bright. All thanks to the lovely weather.
Sunday morning, San Telmo Market. This young guy was promoting a tango show and dressed the part. I took one photo of him, and it seemed to me that he liked it, because he asked me to take some more.
I really wanted a typical romantic Parisian picture — like a couple kissing next to the river. However, I never came across these couples. It was quite hot for April, and I was surprised to see a girl sunbathing (seemingly) without a care in the world. I also liked the implied tension in the distance between the man and the woman.
It is hard to believe that a few minutes before this image was taken it was actually pouring rain. I guess people who live on the island are well aware of these weather swings. It was the last day of school and I wanted to take a picture of students in their uniforms. I love the combination of colors both in the uniforms and on the wall.
