TOKYO – When Fathom creative director Crystal Meers went to Tokyo, she came back with an unbelievable manicure.
Though the beauty routine can be traced back 5,000 years in India and China (when beeswax, gold, and henna were used as nail enamel), today's Japanese manicures take things to an outrageous new level. Girls and guys around Tokyo can be found sporting rhinestones, chains, 3-D Hello Kitty characters, and mini hot dog sculptures on their fingertips.
