Hometown: NYLON

Occupation: Miscellanist

Favorite destinations: Amalfi Coast, the Hamptons, Lake Como.

Dying to visit: Japan, Russia.

Bizarre travel rituals: Travel insurance.

In-flight relaxation regime: Ear plugs, aisle seat, remove watch for long-haul flights.

Always in carry-on: MacBook, Billingham camera bag.

Concierge or DIY? Wife.

See it all or take it easy? See it all easily.

Drive or be driven? Driven.

Travel hero: Passepartout.

Best hotel amenity: The rentable speedboat at Villa d'Este.

I dream about my meal at Lo Scoglio.

Everywhere I go, I check out the stationery shops.

When I arrive in a new place, I learn the lay of the land by following strangers.

I always bring home nothing. I hate tchotchkes.

If I never return to Cyprus it'll be too soon because, well, you'll have to go to find out.

I travel to visit my wife.
