Meet 3 Fl. Oz. Co-Founder Alexi Mintz
Alexi in Mexico.
Hometown: New York.
Occupation: Co-founder of 3 Fl. Oz.
Favorite destinations: Uruguay, Positano, Vietnam, and Sayulita.
Dying to visit: The Ice Hotel in Sweden, Maldives, Zanzibar.
Bizarre travel rituals: I always pack socks, regardless of my destination. You never know when you'll need them.
In-flight relaxation regime: Trashy magazines and catching up on bad TV.
Always in carry-on: Towelettes, toothbrush, socks, headphones, iPad, and Archipelago Botanicals Lip Balm.
Concierge or DIY? 50/50.
See it all or take it easy? I like to plan trips that can incorporate both relaxing on the beach and sightseeing. I was in Vietnam recently and spent the first week traveling and seeing it all and the second week relaxing on the beach.
Drive or be driven? Driven without question! I rented a scooter in Vietnam and it didn't end well!
Weirdest thing seen on travels: A cow as a family pet in Vietnam.
Best hotel amenity: I'm a sucker for a pool.
I dream about my meal at La Tagliata in Positano.
Everywhere I go, I check out the supermarket. I was in a grocery store in Spain and purchased olives. Years later, they are still my favorite olives. Nothing fancy, just normal olives sitting on a shelf in a grocery store in Spain. You never know what you'll find.
When I arrive in a new place, I learn the lay of the land by getting lost!
I always bring home food. I've had so many things confiscated at customs I can't remember the entire list, but it includes hearts of palm. They were in a can but had a small amount of liquid.
If I never return to the house we rented in Uruguay, it'll be too soon because it was a shack that resembled nothing like the photos!
I travel for the adventure and experience.
