More are a sweet and barely tart berry that stain everything they touch a deep purple. They can also be pale white, like albino fruit. I once fed them to Nora Ephron when I was giving her a tour of the kitchen. I hadn't realized who she was when Beppe asked me, "Can you show these nice American ladies English?" Nora used to visit every year, usually with Larry Ellison and his yacht, but no one at Lo Scoglio knew who she was.
